Full Job Description
Job Description:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for driving innovative engineering solutions from concept development through final implementation, serving as a critical link between design, drafting, and project execution. This role combines technical expertise with project leadership, challenging the incumbent to solve complex engineering problems, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality mechanical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Duties
  • Develop, design, and analyze mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Draft Sight, etc.)
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings (drafting) ensuring compliance with industry standards and GD&T principles.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulation, and analysis to validate design performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Manage document control, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and technical specifications.
  • Act as a project lead for assigned tasks or small-to-medium scale engineering projects.
  • Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts between production, supply chain, and external vendors to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Proactively identify potential bottlenecks or technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise to the production floor to resolve manufacturing issues, improve assembly processes, or troubleshoot prototype builds.
  • Collaborate with clients or internal stakeholders to refine requirements and drive design iterations based on feedback.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience in mechanical design and/or project engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, sheet metal, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • A "roll-up-your-sleeves" mindset; comfortable switching between a design workstation, a project meeting, and the production floor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on practical, cost-effective, and scalable solutions.
