Mechanical Engineer to work with architects and building owners under the guidance of a Professional Engineer to translate owner needs into a building design that is buildable, cost-effective, and sustainable.
Responsibilities:- Calculate heating and cooling loads using Carrier HAP software to size equipment
- Estimate energy use and savings using EQuest and other simulation programs
- Lay out ductwork, piping and equipment using AutoCAD software
- Model building HVAC and plumbing systems using Autodesk Revit software
- Survey buildings: take photos, measurements, assess equipment
- Calculate pipe sizes for refrigeration systems using Excel and other tools
- Answer construction questions relevant to your designs
- Meet with utilities to work out building connections
- Perform energy code compliance calculations
- Model buildings for LEED Energy credits
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAC/ABET certified school
- Experience in HVAC or Plumbing design
- Engineer in Training certification preferred, PE a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work well in a team environment
