Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, investigates, and specifies mechanical controls, systems, equipment, and devices for manufacturing, testing and facility management.

Main Responsibilities:
• Supply technical support to the manufacturing team.
• Supply technical support to field service and maintenance operations for this equipment's operation.
• Perform engineering calculations, component sizing, component selection, machine design, and document control.
• Involvement in concept definition, system design, component selection, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and final products.
• Will interact with procurement, manufacturing assembly and operations.
• Work with customers and suppliers to define equipment specifications, resolve fabrication issues, resolve quality issues, and support the deployment of equipment.
• Use SolidWorks and CAD to perform design and drafting functions.
• Prepare project documentation including risk assessments, operational procedures, test plans, presentations, and technical manuals.
• Research, develop, design, evaluate, and implement the installation of mechanical systems for welding and repair welding of line pipe. Applies knowledge of Induction Welding to maintain and improve the welding functions in both pipe fabrication and plant facility maintenance.
• Directs engineering and maintenance personnel in the mechanical functions associated with the manufacturing of pipe and the maintenance of the plant and equipment.
• Evaluates operational systems and recommends design modifications to eliminate cause of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.
• Provides guidance to mechanical technicians in repair, installation and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic components, pneumatic equipment, systems, instruments, and communications.
• Uses CAD/CAM knowledge to supply drawings for maintenance and operating personnel.
• Directs the installation of mechanical equipment and provides vendors and suppliers of equipment with technical data for the development of improved operation controls and equipment.
• Monitors hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment for safe and efficient operation and recommends changes to provide continuous improvement in equipment for maximum plant efficiency.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical engineering in an industrial plant.
• Must be able to read and understand the Procedures and Work Instructions for the position held.
• Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, etc.
• Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.
