  • Identify technical issues within assigned tasks and propose practical engineering solutions while working within scope, schedule, and budget constraints

About the role:

As an Engineering II - Mechanical Systems and Equipment you will support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of mechanical systems and equipment for advanced and legacy reactor applications. You will perform engineering calculations and analyses, contribute to system and equipment sizing, and collaborate closely with senior engineers while continuing to build technical depth. You will offer hands-on exposure to complex engineering work and a structured path toward increased technical independence.

You will report to the Manager, Mechanical Systems & Equipment and be located at the Kitchener, Ontario Office. This position will be offered as a hybrid role. Employees working in hybrid roles are expected to work onsite at our Kitchener, Ontario Office 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of mechanical systems, components, and equipment

  • 2-4 years of professional engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, first-principles analysis, uncertainty treatment, and engineering tools
  • 1+ years of experience with Mathcad, MATLAB, and/or VBA
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and component design and analysis, including fluid systems and interfaces with instrumentation and control
  • Willingness to work toward P.Eng. licensure and ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $77,600 to $97,000 per year.
