Purpose:We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Specialist. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Toronto, Ontario.
Responsibilities:- Preparation of 3D and 2D layouts for MMM execution projects and studies.
- Developing of general arrangement drawings for the process plants and site facilities.
- Developing of standard equipment drawings for supporting the layouts and the design.
- Developing of material handling drawings.
- Planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project or area.
- Fully understanding the project scope of work and identifying potential changes utilizing the project change control process.
- Understanding of construction work packaging requirements and organizing construction documentation to support construction and commissioning.
- Advising the Discipline Lead and Project Manager about status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays, and adverse problems.
- Full understanding of the use of requisitions and the role of materials management and support of technical requirements for purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Maintaining the 3D model environment.
- Facilitating and navigating 3D model reviews, both internal and client.
- Coordinating work between various disciplines and interdisciplinary checking.
- Checking work of, and assist in training of less experienced design personnel.
What you will bring: Technical and Industry Experience: - Needs to be fluent in all design tools such as Aveva PDMS/E3D.
- Experience in the mining and minerals environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- This position involves the design and drafting of 3D CAD based equipment and utilizing laser scans.
- As required, you might be asked to join site visits.
Other requirements: - Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills; maintain good interaction between clients and team members.
- Able to visit sites and have brownfields site experience.
- Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required up to 50 hours per week.
- Able to provide full lead coverage when lead is on vacation.
- Must demonstrate an excellent safety-oriented mindset.
- Must have a proven safety record.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required: - Technical school graduate with specific discipline training.
- Must have valid driving license.
- Proficiency in PDMS/E3D.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to work independently.
For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $154,179 to $181,387 CAD.
