A Snapshot of Your Day:

The Mechanical Design Engineer for Turbine Components Manufacturing serves as a key link between design engineering and manufacturing, ensuring turbine components are designed and produced efficiently. The role focuses on supporting new product introductions and solving complex production challenges for industrial gas turbines.

How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new turbine components at suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and industry standards
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for gas turbine manufacturing, providing production support and guidance to internal teams and external vendors
  • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes and methods to ensure effective execution of engineering requirements
  • Disposition manufacturing deviations and non-conformances, assessing impact on cost, functionality, performance, and durability
  • Perform engineering analyses including dimensional evaluations, tolerance stack-ups, and fits and clearance assessments
  • Ensure designs adhere to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles by drafting and revising product definitions and collaborating closely with design and manufacturing teams
What You'll Bring:
  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering, or related work experience
  • 3 + years' engineering turbines in manufacturing environments
  • Manufacturing processes for gas turbines like investment casting, conventional and non-conventional machining.
  • Turbine components and functionality, principles of tolerance and stack up analysis, and design considerations affecting assembly and operation of components.
  • Disposition of non-conforming gas turbine or other hardware operating in high temperature environment
  • SAP, Teamcenter, Lotus Notes, or other quality data management software highly preferred
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

You are working in a team of mechanical and materials engineers covering all process steps of gas turbine hot gas path component manufacturing together with design engineering and supply chain management at internal and external global suppliers.
