Standard Job Description
You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer Sr for an Air Dominance program. Our team is responsible for producing design key components of the missile system and associated test equipment.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Design Engineer Sr you will be responsible for the design, development and improvement to mechanical fixtures and automated test equipment for production test. They will also work with a cross-functional team to design, fabricated, and checkout test fixtures and equipment prior for implementation in a production environment. This position supports the Air Dominance Weapon System program in Orlando, FL.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for mechanical fixtures used in the production test environment
• Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation of mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies within Windchill PLM
• Supporting & upgrading test equipment hardware designs for unit under test (UUT) fixturing
• Support the build and assembly of hardware and test fixtures
• Analyzing failures/anomalies associated with test equipment, UUTs, UUT fixturing, and providing recommended solutions
• Coordinating with production teams to maintain test fixture and equipment uptime
• Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in mechanical, aerospace or related field
Strong understanding of mechanical design engineering principles, structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform moderately complex tolerance analysis
Minimum 3 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software
Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
Have the ability to work with team members and contribute to projects
Have the ability to contributed to investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams
Strong communication, presentation, and time management skills
Ability to travel occasionally to support test equipment assembly and checkout in factory environment
Desired Skills
Experience with test fixture and test equipment design, including power supplies, cable harnesses, and/or HWIL setups
Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
Experience with model-based product definition
Experience with missile programs
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
