This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mechanical and Fire Protection Lead with the potential to work out of Arlington, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Denver, CO; Tacoma, WA; San Diego, CA; Dallas, TX; Richmond, VA; or San Antonio, TX.

Be involved in projects with our Federal Programs AEC Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
  • Lead the development and management of the Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering teams for WSP USA Federal Programs AEC Team.
  • Manage all MP/FP staff in project assignments and maintain targeted utilization.
  • Lead in recruitment of additional MP/FP staff.
  • Performance of mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction
  • Provide technical leadership/mentorship to junior engineers/designers
  • Review other mechanical engineers' work for code compliance and constructability.
  • Estimate design effort and assist in fee preparations. negotiations with Architectural-Engineering firms and General Contractors.
  • Address contractor submittals and requests for information (RFI's).


Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer working on facilities/building projects
  • Professional Engineering license
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering , or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense projects (USACE/NAVFAC)
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international)
  • Familiarity with both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods for projects
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies


Preferred Qualifications
  • Active or ability to obtain a US Government issued security clearance or CAC.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $153,000 - $225,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $163,800 - $210,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
