Job Summary- Seeking a Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex software systems in support of mission requirements
- This position analyzes user and system needs, develops scalable software solutions, improves existing applications, and works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure software capabilities align with broader system architectures and operational constraints
- The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong technical, cloud, DevSecOps, and Agile development experience who can contribute independently while also supporting small-team leadership and continuous process improvement
Primary Responsibilities- Software Design and Development
- Analyze user, mission, and system requirements to support software design, performance expectations, technical feasibility, and implementation planning
- Design, develop, test, enhance, and maintain software applications and system components
- Add new features and capabilities to existing software systems while maintaining compatibility and performance
- Apply algorithmic thinking to develop efficient, scalable solutions that meet functional and performance requirements
- Develop and optimize data queries and database interactions ranging from basic data retrieval to complex data-processing logic
- Debug, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Support software installation, configuration, enhancement, and maintenance activities
- Integration, Testing, and Quality
- Contribute to software and system integration activities across new and existing environments
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other technical stakeholders to ensure software solutions align with system architecture, interfaces, and constraints
- Develop and execute test procedures for software components
- Perform quality control activities to ensure compliance with coding standards, technical requirements, and established engineering processes
- Validate software compatibility, stability, and performance throughout integration and testing activities
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for software and integration issues
- Documentation and Process Improvement
- Create, review, and maintain clear technical documentation for software applications, interfaces, system components, and development processes
- Recommend and implement improvements to software development processes, documentation standards, and team workflows
- Identify inefficiencies and propose practical enhancements that improve quality, repeatability, and delivery performance
- Support configuration control, version management, and traceability throughout the software development lifecycle
- Team Contribution and Leadership
- Contribute effectively within Agile software development teams
- Lead small technical efforts, tasks, or workstreams as needed
- Assist with coordinating software development activities to support timely and compliant delivery
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog management, issue resolution, technical reviews, and team collaboration activities
- Support continuous improvement across engineering, development, testing, and deployment processes
Required Qualifications- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Fourteen (14) years of experience supporting programs and contracts of comparable scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree
- Experience analyzing software and system requirements and developing technical solutions
- Experience with software development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience supporting software development within Agile or Scrum environments
- Technical Qualifications
- JIRA and GitLab: Experience supporting development workflows, issue tracking, source control, and collaborative software development
- Agile/Scrum: Experience with iterative development, sprint planning, backlog management, and Agile team coordination
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience defining, provisioning, and managing infrastructure using Terraform
- AWS Cloud Security: Experience implementing cloud security practices including Identity and Access Management (IAM), network segmentation, encryption, auditing, and resource protection
- CI/CD: Experience designing, implementing, or maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines that automate software testing, building, integration, and deployment

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.
The pay range for this role is:
165,000 - 225,000 USD per year (NBP)
