Job Summary- Seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer - ISSO to play a key role in securing complex information systems, maintaining compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements, and protecting sensitive and classified information
- This position supports the full lifecycle of system security operations, including information assurance, security authorization, vulnerability and risk management, configuration control, security documentation, and day-to-day operational security
- The ideal candidate has hands-on ISSO experience supporting mission-critical systems and is comfortable working across both technical and compliance-focused cybersecurity activities
Primary Responsibilities- Serve as the Information Systems Security Approval Authority for systems under assigned responsibility.
- Provide technical and compliance support for the organization's Information Assurance (IA) program.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and enforce IT security programs across multiple systems and projects.
- Maintain the operational security posture of mission-critical information systems
- Develop, implement, and enforce information system security policies, standards, procedures, and methodologies
- Support day-to-day cybersecurity operations, including system monitoring, security reviews, and incident response activities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk assessments, and security evaluations in support of system certification and accreditation activities
- Evaluate security solutions to ensure requirements for protecting classified and sensitive information are satisfied
- Support system configuration management, change control, and security impact assessment activities
- Identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps and coordinate appropriate mitigation or remediation activities
- Review system changes for potential impacts to security posture and authorization status
- Coordinate with system owners, engineers, administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and other stakeholders to maintain system compliance
- Prepare, maintain, and review cybersecurity documentation, including:
- System Security Plans (SSPs)
- Risk Assessment Reports
- Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages
- System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)
- Support security reviews, assessments, audits, and other authorization-related activities
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable cybersecurity tools, technologies, communication protocols, encryption methods, and security implementation practices
Required Qualifications- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Five (5) years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Experience must include at least one of the following areas:
- Current cybersecurity and security-management tools
- Hardware and software security implementation
- Communication protocols
- Encryption techniques and tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of additional ISSO experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree
- Required Certification
- DoD 8570 IAM Level I certification or higher
- Must meet applicable DoD 8570 requirements prior to performing in the role
Desired Qualifications- Strong knowledge of information assurance and system security principles
- Experience maintaining the security posture of classified information systems
- Experience conducting vulnerability and risk assessments
- Experience supporting certification and accreditation activities
- Familiarity with configuration management, security impact analysis, and change-control processes
- Strong technical documentation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.
The pay range for this role is:
95,000 - 130,000 USD per year (NBP)
