Full Job Description
Directs the corporation's commercial and military cargo charter programs. The MD Charters is responsible for setting the vision and execution across five high-impact areas: sustaining and advancing our safety culture; expanding and diversifying the charter revenue portfolio through new market opportunities; strengthening long-term partnerships with FedEx Logistics and key express customers; leading and growing the FedEx Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) program; and serving as a primary liaison to the Department of Defense through our CRAF participation, NDTA engagement, and broader defense-related partnerships. This role operates at the center of a highly complex, cross-functional ecosystem, requiring seamless coordination with GOC, Flight Operations, AirNav, Crew Scheduling, Jumpseat Administration, Flight Services, MOCC, Line Maintenance, and Security. In addition, it maintains critical alignment with International regions, Sales, Legal, U.S. Ramp Operations, and specialized functions such as Government and Animal Operations. These relationships are essential to executing charter operations safely, efficiently, and profitably. This MD position is strategically critical to Air Operations, directly influencing both revenue generation and enterprise-wide resource optimization.
Essential Functions
• Primary objective to maximum profits through revenue generation and optimum resource allocation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with government procurement practices, in particular with the Department of Defense
• Strong understanding of the Air Mobility Command (AMC) contracting process
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in business, finance, transportation or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
Significant professional experience in airline charter operations, business analysis, and contract negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent management, analytical, human relations and communication skills.
