Full Job Description
Corvid is expanding its Strike Systems team to support the rapid design, agile development, and flight demonstration of the Hypersonic Affordable Mass Weapon Concepts (HAMWC) program. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Systems Engineer to serve as the Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT) architect for our digital engineering ecosystem. This candidate will support three essential functions for the rapid development and testing of high-speed weapon systems: MBSE Architecture & Digital Thread Management; Requirements Engineering & Milestone Execution: and Affordability, Producibility, & Risk Management.

The successful candidate will lead the implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML frameworks to bridge the gap between high-level hypersonic performance requirements (speed, range, payload) and advanced, low-cost digital manufacturing methods. This role demands a unique combination of technical rigor in complex aerospace environments and the agility required to drive hardware from conceptual design to dynamic flight testing. The right candidate will demonstrate an agile mindset comfortable collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment geared toward rapid prototyping and testing.

Some key tasking & responsibilities will include:
  • Develop, maintain, and govern robust digital architecture models that serve as the Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT) for hardware, software, and firmware requirements
  • Ensure all SysML models are optimized for Cameo Systems Modeler and align with Government-furnished reference architectures and specified style guides
  • Lead the compilation and engineering delivery of the data-centric Design Technical Data Package (TDP) and the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
  • Derive, write, decompose, and verify complex system and subsystem requirements across the entire vehicle lifecycle (boost, cruise, glide, and terminal phases)
  • Leverage MBSE structures to support vehicle parametric trade studies aimed at achieving an aggressive operational target per-unit cost of <$1M per All-Up-Round (AUR)
  • Utilize the government-provided Component/Supplier Risk Assessment (CSRA) tool to objectively identify and track production and material risks inside the system model

Requirements:
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess a current Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and at least 3 years of experience complex technical requirements and engineering workflows
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler (No Magic) or equivalent SysML modeling engines
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting or leading major military aerospace milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)

Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior experience engineering high-speed or hypersonic systems (Mach 3 to Mach 5+)
  • Familiarity with industry-standard digital product data practices (e.g., ASME Y14.41).
  • Experience implementing security parameters such as Anti-Tamper provisions or weapon system safety hazard analyses

Corvid benefits include:
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan via our generous 401(k) Matching
  • Medical Insurance via Blue Cross - including a PPO and High-Deductible offering (with company HSA contribution)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of industry experience (not tenure)
  • Career Development and Continuing Education opportunities
  • Company provided life, long-term and short-term disability insurance
  • Incentive opportunities to reward strong performance and corporate growth
  • Attractive corporate facilities that include Lake Norman access, out-door activities (including grills) and more
