The Opportunity:
As a Defense Mission Expert III, you will apply extensive operational leadership and project management expertise to advance NORAD and USNORTHCOM mission priorities. In this role, you will help shape the evolution and growth of the Homeland Enterprise, supporting strategic integration, readiness, policy development, and operational synchronization across joint, interagency, and multinational partners.
You will guide cross‑functional teams working on complex mission challenges, contribute to enterprise‑level decision frameworks, and support the development of new operational concepts that strengthen Homeland Defense and Defense Support to Civil Authorities. This position is highly collaborative and requires the ability to translate evolving mission needs into actionable plans, recommendations, and project outcomes.
Your background in large‑scale operations, resource management, readiness, and strategic planning will directly support NORAD and USNORTHCOM headquarters, helping deliver solutions that advance national security objectives.

You Have:
15+ years of experience in DoD operations, project management, logistics, readiness, program execution, or mission support roles
Experience developing executive-level reports, operational summaries, or planning products
Knowledge of planning, resource management, readiness reporting, or operational integration
Ability to lead complex organizations, programs, or mission areas involving joint or interagency stakeholders
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with varied mission partners
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience supporting NORAD and USNORTHCOM, Homeland Security, or Joint operational missions
Experience with enterprise transformation, process improvement, or organizational design
Experience developing or employing readiness reporting frameworks such as DRRS or DCAPES
Ability to develop and deliver executive-level briefings in dynamic or crisis-driven environments
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
TS/SCI clearance
Master’s degree in strategy, planning, or operations
PMP or formal program management Certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Compensation
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
