This position will join a highly collaborative and mission-driven school focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of its 400+ students. The ideal Math Teacher will have a passion for teaching and providing expertise in math education to a student population impacted by foster care or the child welfare system.
Responsibilities:- Develop and teach curriculum and lessons that comply with Common Core Standards and meet grade expectations and outcomes
- Provide instruction and expertise in the subject of math education
- Participate in staff development programs and opportunities
- Collect and evaluate academic data to inform lessons and instruction
- Evaluate students progress through a variety of assessments
Qualifications:- Approximately 2+ years of relevant teaching experience in math
- Master's degree preferred, NYS teaching certification is a plus but not required
- Experience in a charter school environment is a plus
- Subject matter expert in math education
- Strong classroom management
- Mission-driven individual, passionate about teaching in underserved communities
