Full Job Description
REPORTS TO: Principal POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for teaching Math to high school students. Creates engaging lesson plans aligned with district and CCSS standards and fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment. Maintains student records, assesses student progress and communicates with parents. Engages in professional development and contributes to the school's mission to support student success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Instruction & Lesson Planning: Teaches Math to high school students, establishes clear learning objectives and communicates these objectives to students. Develops lesson plans aligned with CCSS and District guidelines. Classroom Management: Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Employs differentiated instruction, and integrates educational technology. Student Assessment & Support: Regularly assesses student progress, provides reports, and collaborates with specialists to address learning needs and/or disabilities. Safety & Compliance: Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains accurate records as required by law, and together with Administration, implements all District policies. Communication & Collaboration: Engages with parents, supports students for education-related purposes outside instructional hours as required or when requested to do so. Collaboratively works with school administration. Professional Growth: Attends meetings, serves on committees as required, and continues to improve by participating in ongoing professional development. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent-Director and/or their designee. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication skills required. Strong classroom management abilities to maintain a structured and engaging learning environment. Exceptional organizational skills required. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Must be authorized to work in the United States. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to teach Math (9-12). SEI Endorsement required. Prior teaching experience in a high school setting required. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time position. 184 working days per school year. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC. SALARY: Appropriate step on Teacher's salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA. Salary range is $59,152.95 - $105,795.77.
