Materials Process EngineerKey Responsibilities - Develop chemical processes for battery active materials to meet application, product, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to operate production-scale tools.
- Champion process improvements and partner with external vendors on custom equipment when off-the-shelf solutions don't exist.
- Analyze material characterization data and apply Statistical Process Control to troubleshoot out-of-spec lots.
- Build coin cells to quantify electrochemical performance of R&D materials.
- Own preventive maintenance planning, spare parts strategy, and equipment health monitoring.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment at all times.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 3+ years of experience in a relevant field OR Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemistry (electrical), materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and chemical engineering) AND 1+ year of experience in a relevant field
- Hands-on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting industrial production equipment.
Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with powder mixing, slurry, or coating processes.
- Familiarity with electrochemical testing techniques to screen new materials.
Physical Requirements- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Be able to work in a lab standing up to 8 hours each day.
Compensations Range: The expected base salary range for this position is between
$106,000.00 - $159,000.00
The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.
