Materials Manager Summary The Materials Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of Operating Room (OR) Materials Management and Heart Center supply operations. This role oversees procurement, inventory control, replenishment, and distribution processes to ensure uninterrupted clinical operations. The Materials Manager leads departmental staff and processes, including recruitment, training, performance management, and retention. This position manages OR case cart supply and assembly workflows, coordinates inventory activities across the OR Core and Cath Lab, and ensures accurate on-hand supply levels to meet forward coverage and internal customer requirements.
Materials Manager Requirements Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience
- At least five (5) years of supply chain, inventory management or distribution experience in a healthcare setting is required.
- Three (3) years of leading or supervising staff in a materials management function is preferred.
- Experience in data-driven process improvement techniques.
- Technical application skills of Microsoft Office suite to include Excel and Word is required.
- Experience using SharePoint and the Allscripts Supply Chain Solutions system preferred.
- Previous experience with Workday for supply chain, reporting and/or operational workflows is strongly preferred.
Materials Manager Schedule - Assigned to day shift, Monday through Friday, occasional weekends may be required. Expected to respond to calls after normal working hours or weekends.
