Materials ManagerThe Commercial Materials Manager executes purchasing decisions based on market conditions, manages supplier relationships, and resolves related issues. Critical aspects of this position involves maintaining inventory accuracy through daily monitoring, cycle counts, and fiscal year procedures.
Responsibilities- Make inquiries and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and other factors relevant to the organization
- Execute stock replenishment while making buying decisions based on current market conditions with respect to quantities, order minimums or prepaid terms and mode of transportation.
- Communicate with suppliers concerning order status and delivery.
- Identify problems and determine and implement resolutions
- Review inventory reports daily for accuracy and resolve count issues
- Oversee monthly Cycle counts and fiscal year inventory procedures
- Work with supervisor's/managers in every other department to ensure daily production runs as needed to result in expected profit
