Material Planning Manager

The Opportunity

Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including infectious disease, cardiometabolic, informatics, and toxicology.

Our location in Lake Forest, IL currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Global Material Planning. This role provides analysis to Procurement team members which supports the company's global cash-flow optimization initiatives as well as other end to end supply chain improvements.

What You'll Work On
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders across international markets and CMI entities to support the following Supply Chain initiatives through analysis.
  • Optimizes inventory levels without decreasing customer service levels.
  • Minimizes supply chain scrap expenses.
  • Optimizes raw material flow.
  • Provides demand and supply forecast analysis to ensure all relevant business requirements and trends are incorporated and appropriately reflected.
  • Extracts data from ERP systems to create various complex reports used to identify inventory management issues, expired inventory, stock rotation initiatives, and other inventory/stocking concerns.
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of planning parameters within the ERP system through collaboration with the site.
  • Assists with system implementations to improve forecasting and demand requirements planning.
  • Prepares, summarizes, and presents data accuracy, delivery performance, and other key metrics to assess performance, modify raw material supply plans, and prioritize improvement efforts for management.
  • Conducts annual refresh of appropriate inventory levels for raw materials.
  • Publishes KPIs as required for all inventory-related metrics, including forecast accuracy, days on hand (DOH), scrap reporting, and stock levels.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks related to incoming raw materials and escalates as appropriate.
  • Identifies and may participate in process improvement projects aimed at enhancing customer service levels, improving raw material supply flows, and minimizing supply chain costs.
  • Develops and maintains excellent cross-divisional, cross-functional, and multi-geographical relationships with key business partners.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Supports all Company initiatives as identified by management and in alignment with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience with supply chain ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex sets of data and summarize for presenting to management.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business or equivalent preferred.
  • 5 (+) years' raw materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

$99,300.00 - $198,700.00
