Job Purpose

The Material Planning Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted production by managing material availability, inventory, and supplier coordination within a manufacturing environment. This leader drives planning excellence, supports production schedules, and leads a team responsible for ensuring the right materials are delivered to the right place at the right time. This lead will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Material Planning team supporting daily manufacturing operations
  • Set team priorities aligned with production schedules, customer demand, and supply constraints
  • Place and manage purchase orders to ensure material availability within assigned planner scope
  • Maintain and optimize planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, reorder points)
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve delivery issues
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages and supply risks to prevent production disruptions
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues impacting material flow, supplier performance, or inventory accuracy
  • Monitor and control inventory levels and spend to balance availability and cost efficiency
  • Drive improvements in planning KPIs and overall material planning performance
  • Support onboarding of new parts and suppliers, ensuring smooth integration into production processes


Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or related field and experience in lean/continuous improvement
  • 4 or more years of proven experience in material planning, production control, or supply chain within a high-volume manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ownership of material flow and availability


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, manufacturing processes, and data-driven decision making to manage complexity and drive results
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including team development and influencing cross-functional partners

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is USD $86,625.00 - $132,825.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
