Dematic is looking for a Material Logistics professional located within our Grand Rapids, Plano, or Milwaukee locations. In this role, the successful candidate must have demonstrated success in a similar role and industry. Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do In This Role :

  • Act as a direct communication link with he controls engineering team for material order entry and processing of material needs for the job site.
  • Coordinates the flow of materials and equipment from vendors to job site
  • Reviews and plans requirements for ordering materials
  • Coordinates and controls the materials planning function
  • Solves complex issues by defining opportunities and identifying solutions
  • Facilitates communication between Engineering, Project Management and Procurement
  • Work with our Business Integration team to define, launch and manage new processes and procedures that affect controls material order entry

Leadership responsibilities:

  • Work with Junior team members to provide direction and clarity on expectations of the role
  • Support goal setting and performance management for on time delivery of materials to site
  • Support bi-weekly team calls with KPI’s, open issues and next steps for actions needed to ensure materials are ordered and delivered to site on time
  • Support on-boarding of new team members to ensure system compliance and training is in place.  Provide guidance on daily tasks as needed
  • Keep standards home page up to date and ensure within adherence and compliance (on a project level)
  • Provide weekly updates on priority orders, material entries, other as needed.  Assist in root cause analysis for risk / priority orders.  Follow up on root cause and how to assist in reduction of red-line items
  • Present as needed in CE all hands meeting, other meetings as needed to provide direction to other team members regarding materials entry / priority tasks
  • Other leadership / investigative actions as needed or defined by manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Engineering for shipment information and ordering priorities
  • Coordinate with Project Management for delivery sequence and expediting
  • Track parts requirements related to projects
  • Provide feedback to Project Team on exceptions (late shipments)
  • Order Entry for priority orders; verify priority reason indicators
  • Expediting for priority orders
  • Verify stock availability on priority order entry requests
  • Order Entry for standard orders
  • Return Authorizations
  • Coordinate shipping instructions and modes of transportation required to ensure equipment arrives at job site when needed
  • Provide shipping information to Project Teams
  • Process mark number cancellations and reissues
  • Process new part number requests when required
  • Communicate project needs to Procurement
  • Direct Engineering to correct procedures and forms
  • Ensure process standards of compliance are met
  • Work with the leadership teams to define and track priority orders, KPI and root cause analysis

What We are Looking For:

  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience may substitute for education.
  • 5 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities as presented above.
