Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

1. Material Flow & Layout Design
  • Design and optimize factory layouts, including production lines, supermarkets, storage locations, and material routes
  • Define and maintain storage locations (bin locations, supermarket design, rack configuration) to ensure efficient material access and replenishment
  • Support facility expansions, reconfigurations, and new product launches


2. Line-Side Delivery & Presentation
  • Define line-side material presentation strategies, including "border of line" design and replenishment zones
  • Implement and optimize delivery methods such as kitting, sequencing, bulk supply, and point-of-use delivery
  • Improve operator ergonomics and ensure consistent material presentation standards

3. PFEP (Plan for Every Part) Management
  • Develop and maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) database including:
  • Part dimensions and packaging
  • Delivery frequency and replenishment methods
  • Storage and line-side requirements
  • Ensure PFEP accuracy supports lean flow, inventory optimization, and standardized processes

4. AMR / Automation Support
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and automated material transport systems
  • Define routes, pick/drop locations, traffic rules, and integration points with production
  • Troubleshoot and optimize AMR performance, utilization, and system efficiency

5. SMARTPICK & Picking Strategy Optimization
  • Support and optimize SMARTPICK systems or equivalent digital picking technologies
  • Improve picking accuracy, speed, and ergonomics within supermarkets or warehouses
  • Standardize picking processes aligned with PFEP and line demand

6. Process Improvement & Lean Implementation
  • Apply lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban, and pull systems
  • Identify and eliminate waste across material flow, handling, and storage processes
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting throughput, cost reduction, and efficiency

7. Material Handling Equipment & System Integration
  • Specify and implement material handling solutions including conveyors, forklifts, carts, AGVs, and AMRs
  • Ensure seamless integration between material flow systems and production operations
  • Evaluate automation opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability

8. Inventory & Production Alignment
  • Align material flow processes with production schedules and ERP systems
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels while supporting Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery
  • Prevent shortages and overstock through effective replenishment strategies

9. Funnel Cloud Reporting & Data Analytics
  • Develop and maintain funnel cloud reporting to monitor material flow performance and identify bottlenecks
  • Analyze key metrics such as inventory turns, delivery compliance, shortages, and downtime
  • Create dashboards and visualizations (Power BI or equivalent) to drive data-based decisions

10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, logistics, and engineering teams
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up activities
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure flow alignment

Other Tasks:
  • Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee's Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
  • Effective use of MAGNA STRUCTURES MEADOWVALE's Escalation Process.
  • Compliance to IATF customer requirements
  • Promotes divisional values as well as contributes towards meeting long term goals of company.
  • Observes all Federal/Provincial Regulations including standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as Policies and Procedures outlined in the Employee
  • Attends all scheduled meetings and training.
  • Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills
  • Layout/design tools: AutoCAD or similar
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization (Power BI preferred)
