Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Master Scheduler to join our Surrey, B.C. production planning team. This key role will ensure the production schedules are level-loaded, resources are optimally allocated, and capacity constraints are managed effectively. The Master Scheduler will play a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and will serve as a primary liaison for reporting capacity levels to upper management, providing insights that drive informed decision-making. The candidate will also be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization. Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Surrey location and does not offer remote work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Production Scheduling and Planning: • Develop and maintain a master production schedule to ensure balanced workloads and optimal resource utilization. • Collaborate with production planners, team leads, supply chain and engineering personnel to align production schedules with demand forecasts and inventory goals. • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks to maintain a smooth workflow. Capacity Management: • Monitor and analyze the plant's capacity levels, identifying potential risks or inefficiencies. • Provide actionable recommendations to address capacity constraints and improve throughput. • Partner with operational teams to ensure resources (labor, equipment, materials) are aligned with production requirements. Reporting and Communication: • Create and present detailed reports to upper management on plant capacity, production performance, and resource utilization. • Develop and monitor dashboards and metrics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling and capacity planning. • Serve as a communication bridge between production teams and leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and goals. Continuous Improvement: • Implement and refine scheduling processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. • Identify and recommend process improvements to support manufacturing and operational excellence. • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into scheduling and planning workflows. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. • APICS/ASCM CPIM certification preferred • 3-10 years of experience in master scheduling, production scheduling, capacity planning, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions. • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Infor Syteline preferred) and advanced Excel skills. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior leadership. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines. • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. • Familiarity with the specific needs of production in a make-to-order manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. L2: CAD 33.65 - 43.27/hr L3: CAD 40.87 - 50.48/hr
