Job DescriptionSummary:The Master Scheduler demonstrates leadership in communicating and executing business goals/processes/programs /material management for an area or business segment. The position will have the experience and expertise to solve problems and be able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. This role could affect short-term and some long-term business goals. The Master Scheduler will own the Sales Backlog and revenue goals for the business, SIOP Process, all Demand signals into the ERP, ERP inputs/outputs, ensuring Sales Orders are planned and executed to avoid past dues, Capacity Management, lead time management, and the overall Sales and Operations plans for the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Prioritizes sales order on the Master Production Schedule using capacity planning tools in accordance with customer requirements and the Company's manufacturing plan guidelines. Become well versed with the SSP's ERP/MRP system - will be subject matter expert. Demonstrates accountability for long-term planning of production requirements.
- Reviews production plan for appropriate action to take or rescheduling of all assembly orders when unable to release due to shortages.
- Works with the Contracts Department to meet customer commitments and resolve order scheduling issues.
- Propose and get authorization for a recovery plan on delinquent orders when normal lead time is insufficient to meet customer needs. Make use of business forecasts with easy to access and transparent data.
- Quotes current normal lead time and build rate capability for R.F.Q.s including AOG's.
- Uses Six Sigma to drive process improvements, and support leads in analyzing data. Business partner with logistics team to ensure on time delivery of products.
- Reports and monitors production forecast load and capacity.
- Drives robust scheduling discussions.
- Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
- Other duties with the work as assigned.
In addition to the above, Schedulers are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.
QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:Bachelors degree in a related field with a minimum (5) years related experience in scheduling, production control, expediting manufacturing or engineering and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Training in specialized business/ production control methods and procedures and lean manufacturing courses/six sigma courses a plus.
