The Master Scheduler develops, owns, and maintains the integrated master production schedule to ensure alignment with customer demand, operational capacity, and material availability. This role is critical to maturing the site's planning capability, standardizing scheduling processes, and driving proactive communication across Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Engineering. This position is designed for an experienced scheduler who can strengthen the function and mentor others.
Primary Responsibilities:
Master Scheduling & Planning- Maintain the master production schedule within the ERP/MRP system, ensuring feasibility against capacity, material constraints, and demand.
- Perform readiness checks (capacity, material, tooling, engineering) prior to schedule release.
- Conduct scenario planning and adjust schedules based on constraints, risks, and customer changes.
- Identify schedule conflicts early and escalate when needed to resolve resource or material constraints.
- Convert planned orders to production orders after confirming readiness.
Leadership & Capability Development- Mentor planners and schedulers; provide coaching on master scheduling methods and best practices.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a cross-functional leader in planning forums and readiness reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Align schedule priorities with Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality.
- Communicate schedule changes, risks, and impacts clearly and proactively.
- Support production readiness and program execution.
Systems & Data Management- Maintain high accuracy and integrity of MRP/ERP data.
- Recommend system improvements, dashboarding, and reporting enhancements.
- Document schedule decisions and rationale for auditability.
Required- 5+ years of experience in master scheduling, production planning, or supply chain.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and manufacturing planning logic.
- Ability to manage complex schedules and dependencies.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred- BA / BS degree or equivalent experience preferably in Operations Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
- Leadership experience.
- Aerospace or complex manufacturing background.
- ASCM/APICS or equivalent certifications.
- Experience with Lean or continuous improvement.
