Job Description

BAE Systems' Weapon Systems Master Planning & Scheduling group is a trusted business partner within the Program Management function that establishes, statuses, updates, and delivers plans and schedules that enable program decision-making and support delivery of quality products and capabilities to our customers and, ultimately, the warfighter. Our mission is to develop, maintain, and deploy planning and scheduling expertise within the Weapon Systems business to promote and enable robust, disciplined, and consistent program planning, monitoring, and control.

Working closely with Program Managers, Control Account Managers, and Work Package Managers (WPMs), the Master Scheduler documents the tasks necessary for successful program execution. In partnership with the Program Finance team, the Master Scheduler communicates schedule status and performance to date to the program team as well as makes predictions about future performance.

This position is a senior level and requires experience. Responsibilities of a Principal Master Scheduler include performing and leading the following:
  • Developing compliant program schedules constructed with the necessary level of detail and logic such that the schedule is a valuable program management tool.
  • Horizontal and vertical integration of program plans and schedules across company functional groups including finance, engineering, procurement, operations, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Preparing regular Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) updates and reports for program management, customers, and/or business management personnel.
  • Monitoring progress against scheduled activities and identifying performance variances to facilitate focus on critical areas as well as developing and implementing work-around or recovery plans.
  • Examining schedules including critical & driving paths and risk & opportunity in compliance with Combat Vehicles, customer, and industry requirements.
  • Timely preparation and submission of contract deliverables related to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Master Plan (IMP).
  • Ensuring that all schedules and contract deliverables are fully compliant with internal policies, customer, and industry requirements.

Position is located in Minneapolis, MN OR Louisville, KY

  • Coachable with a desire to learn.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Knowledge of how to develop solutions to complex problems using ingenuity & innovation.
  • Aptitude to make decisions with sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures.
  • Trained in OpenPlan and MS Project or other planning software.
