We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our Agriculture Division. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with and support our horse insurance specialists, retail agents, horse association partners, and cross-functional marketing teams while working under the guidance of the Marketing Supervisor. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers, managing marketing campaigns from concept through execution across multiple channels, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring brand standards are consistently applied. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, detail-focused, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain expertise in products, services, target markets, distribution channels, industry trends, and customer demographics to identify marketing opportunities and support effective messaging and marketing strategies.
• Support the implementation of marketing, advertising, and promotional strategies across assigned products and distribution channels.
• Execute marketing projects and initiatives on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards and business objectives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop effective messaging and content for marketing materials and customer and agent communications.
• Responsible for budget decisions for assigned products.
• Effectively review and report results of marketing programs and identify areas for improvement in return on marketing investment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners, agents, association partners, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the Markel brand by developing creative solutions, innovative marketing strategies, and customer-focused campaigns.
• Ensure consistent application of brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all marketing and communication deliverables.
• Monitor project progress, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and effectively communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Assist in identifying and supporting opportunities to expand market presence and alternative distribution channels for assigned products.
• Support the planning of Markel-branded events through strategic input, brand-aligned recommendations, and focused ideas that enhance engagement and support business objectives.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities.

• Proactive approach to identifying challenges, recommending solutions, and driving projects to completion.
• Ability to develop and communicate clear, effective marketing messages tailored to target audiences.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Planner, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
• Horse industry knowledge or experience is a plus but not required.
• High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred and/or 3-5 years' experience

Pay information:
The salary range for this position is $58,500 - $121,900. The posted salary range reflects the lowest and highest base salary applicable to this role across our U.S. locations. Individual offers are determined based on geographic location, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors. As a result, the salary offered for a specific location will fall within a narrower range than the overall range displayed in this posting. This position may also be eligible to participate in the Company's annual incentive plan.
