Responsibilities

About the role:

The Marketing Software Engineering Manager leads a team of Marketing technology developers, managing projects from start to finish. They ensure that marketing communications are developed on time, meets requirements, and are scalable. They also help define product strategy and contribute to the development of their team. As a technical manager, you set the boundaries and expectations for delivering a quality product and timely solutions; you are an avid promoter of process improvement; you seek out and promote best practices; you own and refine the technical architecture, continually investing in refactoring and refinement to incorporate modern engineering tools and practices such as AI. As a people manager, you consistently invest in your people to grow their technical skills and soft skills; you celebrate successes; you identify books, classes, events, and assignments that expose team members to new ways of thinking and working; you promote inter-team and intra-team collaboration to build trust; you hire good people, effectively manage poor performers, and provide constant feedback to create a team of leaders. As a servant leader, the Marketing Software Engineering Manager's role is to inspire, motivate, and enable the team by removing impediments. This role is encouraged to stay in the day-to-day activities for project execution while also focusing on the big picture; where the product is headed and what are the architecture decisions, tools, and skills needed to get there.

In this role you will:
  • Enable personalized, automated customer journeys across digital channels such as email, web, mobile, SMS, push and other emerging channels.
  • Lead the team to build the next generation of modern marketing applications, platforms and marketing communications by providing technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal platform engineering team to define and improve business user capabilities of Adobe Experience Cloud platform (Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Campaign, Adobe Target, Adobe Audience Manager, Adobe Analytics)
  • Partner with Marketing to improve campaign speed-to-market while ensuring solutions remains supportable, secure and scalable.
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of real-time, event-driving and scheduled customer journeys, audience activation, segmentation, personalization and decisioning.
  • Understand digital marketing trends and strategy to influence business product managers with digital production decisions.
  • Communicate a plan for the budget, resources, and tools required to support the business and evolve the product, then execute the plan.
  • Evaluate emerging MarTech capabilities, including AI-driven personalization and experimentation.
  • Define and track engineering and business outcomes such as deployment frequency, campaigning enablement time, platform availability, defect rates, automation levels, customer engagement and reuse of common capabilities.


Qualifications

What makes You an ideal candidate?
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing technology/ecosystems and how technology supports customer acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Workfront
  • Understanding of Adobe Experience Cloud suite of products; including but not limited to: AJO, AEP, Target, Campaign
  • Hands-on or leadership level experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer, preferably including AEP, customer profiles, audiences, journeys, personalization, decisioning and channel configuration.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) preferred, WordPress, Prismic, Drupal, Figma, Email on Acid, Hubspot, Sitecore, Seismic)
  • Understanding of customer data architecture, including identity, profiles, audience segmentation, behavioral/event data, consent and activation
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing, monitoring, logging, observability, incident management and production support
  • Experience leading agile and product-oriented delivery teams.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical terminology to people with limited or no technical understanding.
  • Present team strategies and accomplishments to senior executives and peers


AI Skills Preferred:
  • Experience with AI assisted software development or automation
  • Knowledge of prompting techniques to improve output quality
  • Awareness of emerging GenAI capabilities and limitations


Work Experience and Education
  • 8-10 years of experience in software development required
  • Experience leading software development projects preferred
  • Experience leading people preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
