Position OverviewCARIAN is seeking a
Marketing & Proposals Manager to own and execute the company's marketing, communications, and proposal function.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role within CARIAN's commercial organization, working directly with executive leadership, Business Development, and service-line leaders. The Marketing & Proposals Manager will be responsible for CARIAN's day-to-day marketing and communications program, proposal coordination, market-facing content, website content, collateral, events, and the processes and outside resources that support those activities.
The ideal candidate brings experience within the
AEC, engineering, utility, energy, infrastructure, or related professional-services industry and understands how to work with technical professionals and translate complex expertise, project experience, and results into clear, compelling content.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications- Own and execute CARIAN's marketing, communications, and editorial plan
- Establish and maintain a consistent cadence of market-facing content
- Partner with executive leadership and subject-matter experts to develop thought leadership, articles, white papers, client insights, executive commentary, and other content
- Turn project experience, technical expertise, and measurable results into compelling case studies and client-facing stories
- Develop and maintain capability statements, service-line materials, presentations, one-pagers, brochures, and other marketing and business-development collateral
- Manage CARIAN's company LinkedIn presence and support executive thought-leadership activity
- Own and maintain CARIAN's website content, including service pages, project experience, case studies, thought leadership, company information, and routine content updates
- Coordinate external website, graphic design, photography, video, printing, and other marketing resources as needed
- Support company announcements, awards, rankings, speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and other industry visibility initiatives
- Plan and coordinate marketing support for conferences, client events, industry events, and sponsorships
- Maintain consistent messaging, visual standards, and brand quality across CARIAN's external communications
Proposals & Pursuits- Own the coordination and production of RFPs, RFQs, qualifications packages, rate submissions, and related client pursuits from receipt through final delivery
- Establish submission schedules, identify required inputs and owners, and keep contributors accountable to deadlines
- Coordinate resumes, project descriptions, qualifications, certifications, rate sheets, forms, and other required submission materials
- Work with technical and business leaders to obtain staffing, pricing, technical, commercial, and client-specific inputs
- Edit, organize, and format submissions for clarity, consistency, professionalism, and compliance
- Maintain current and organized libraries of resumes, project experience, qualifications, proposal content, certifications, and other reusable materials
- Improve templates, libraries, and workflows so recurring proposal work becomes faster, easier, and more consistent
- Ensure final submissions are accurate, complete, professional, and delivered on time
Business Development Support- Partner closely with Business Development and executive leadership on strategic-account materials, client presentations, meeting preparation, and follow-up
- Develop targeted messaging and collateral for priority utility accounts and service offerings
- Support conference and event activity based on CARIAN's business-development priorities
- Convert successful projects, client outcomes, and technical expertise into reusable marketing and sales assets
- Maintain organized marketing and proposal information within CARIAN's systems and CRM
- Help strengthen and scale CARIAN's marketing and proposal capabilities as the company grows
Qualifications- 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, proposals, pursuits, or business-development support
- Experience within an AEC, engineering, utility, energy, infrastructure, construction, consulting, or related professional-services organization strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience independently owning a marketing program, regional marketing function, proposal/pursuit workload, or comparable area of responsibility
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and compelling client-facing content
- Experience coordinating professional-services proposals, RFQs, RFPs, qualifications packages, or similar submissions
- Experience developing professional B2B content such as case studies, capability materials, presentations, website content, thought leadership, or executive communications
- Experience managing professional social-media content, particularly LinkedIn
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Word skills and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design and production tools
- Strong organization, judgment, initiative, and follow-through, with the ability to work confidently with executives, technical professionals, project leaders, and outside vendors
- Ability to work on-site at CARIAN's Somerset, NJ office three days per week; this is not a fully remote position
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
Preferred Experience- Experience with an engineering, architecture, construction, infrastructure, utility, or power-sector professional-services firm
- Experience supporting electric or gas utility, power delivery, transmission and distribution, energy, or infrastructure markets
- Experience interviewing technical subject-matter experts and converting their expertise into finished market-facing content
- Experience with Adobe InDesign
- Experience with CRM, proposal-content, digital-asset-management, or professional-services platforms such as Unanet, NetSuite, Deltek, OpenAsset, SharePoint, or similar systems
- CPSM certification or involvement with SMPS is a plus
- Fluency with modern AI-enabled productivity and content tools and the judgment to use them effectively in a professional environment
- Prior people-management experience is helpful but not required

CompensationThe base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $120,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate at the time of posting; actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs. CARIAN offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, holidays, and 401(k) participation with company match. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus incentives or other compensation programs based on company and individual performance.
