Full Job Description
Position Description

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of marketing strategy and systems architecture. We are looking for a scrappy, highly analytical Marketing Operations Manager who doesn't just run the machine: they audit it, optimize it, and fix what's broken.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Business Systems, you will own the end-to-end operational health of our HubSpot Marketing Hub and its integration with Salesforce. You'll audit current workflows, fix bad data collection, rebuild broken lead lifecycle logic, and deliver accurate reporting that proves marketing's impact on pipeline and revenue.

In this role, you'll sit inside the Business Systems and RevOps team, benefiting from their extensive systems and development experience. While serving the marketing team, you'll be the person who ensures campaigns launch flawlessly, the super user who turns messy tech debt into clean automation, and the analyst who can answer "where did this lead come from, what touched it, and why did it convert?" You'll also help us practice what we sell by ensuring all emails, forms, and landing pages conform to the accessibility standards we champion for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

Process Audit, HubSpot Administration & Execution
  • Serve as the primary admin for HubSpot Marketing Hub, managing users, properties, folder hierarchy, and overall platform health.
  • Audit existing marketing workflows, forms, and lead lifecycle stages; propose and execute overhauls to eliminate friction, process gaps, and revenue leaks.
  • Build, test, and deploy daily email campaigns, nurture workflows, landing pages, forms, CTAs, and lists.
  • QA every campaign before launch: links, personalization tokens, cross-client rendering, mobile responsiveness, and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Maintain campaign calendar rhythm and document processes so marketing operations remain transparent, structured, and repeatable.

Data Collection, Attribution & Reporting
  • Architect clean marketing data collection across forms, web assets, and third-party tools to ensure every lead touchpoint is captured accurately.
  • Own UTM governance, tracking parameters, and campaign taxonomy so multi-touch attribution and lead source data are reliable.
  • Build and maintain leadership dashboards for campaign performance, funnel conversion rates, pipeline contribution, and customer acquisition efficiency.
  • Investigate data anomalies and broken tracking at the root level rather than just forwarding numbers in a report.

Lead Lifecycle & CRM Alignment
  • Re-evaluate and refine lifecycle stages, lead scoring models, and handoff rules to sales as our go-to-market motion evolves.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the HubSpot/Salesforce data sync, resolving field mapping conflicts and maintaining record alignment across systems.
  • Run ongoing database hygiene: deduplication, list segmentation, enrichment, bounce management, and email deliverability governance (DKIM/SPF, inbox placement, suppression lists).

Martech Collaboration & Systems Integration
  • Administer connected tools across the stack (webinars, event registration, ad platforms, sales engagement).
  • Partner closely with our Internal Systems Team of developers and architects to scope custom integrations, solve complex data schema challenges, or build advanced automation workflows when native connectors fall short.
  • Support registration, lead capture, and follow-up operations for Deque events, including our annual axe-con conference.
  • Explore and implement agentic AI workflows and modern automation capabilities to streamline routine operational tasks and campaign builds.

Accessibility & Compliance
  • Ensure all marketing output (emails, forms, landing pages) meets strict WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Maintain compliance with GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, and privacy requirements across contact data storage and preferences.

Requirements
  • 3-5+ years in marketing operations or demand generation operations with a track record of being the "go-to" hands-on technical super user.
  • B2B SaaS experience, particularly with developer-facing or technical products.
  • Deep, hands-on HubSpot experience: Proven experience administering Marketing Hub day-to-day (building assets, workflows, properties, and list logic yourself).
  • Proactive "fixer" mindset: You don't just execute orders, you walk in, analyze existing processes, identify missing logic or broken handoffs, and fix them.
  • Strong Salesforce & Data Sync knowledge: Solid understanding of how lead data flows between HubSpot and Salesforce, field mapping, and resolving sync errors.
  • Systems logic over coding: You don't need to write code, but you understand system logic, data architecture, and how to effectively collaborate with developers and IT architects.
  • Data collection & attribution focus: Experienced in UTM architecture, form capture strategy, and constructing multi-touch/funnel reports that prove marketing ROI.
  • Meticulous QA & execution discipline: High attention to detail with standard QA checklists for campaign deployments.
  • Automation-minded: Familiarity with modern AI/agentic workflows or an eagerness to use AI automation to increase operational speed.

Nice-to-have
  • HubSpot certifications (Marketing Hub, Reporting, Workflows).
  • Hands-on experience with digital accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508) or a strong desire to learn them.
  • Exposure to SQL, BI tools, or advanced spreadsheet skills for deep-dive data manipulation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise events or sales-led GTM motions.
