MARKETING MANAGER

The primary role of the Marketing Manager is to strategically position McGough to win new business and strengthen client relationships through both pursuit and business development initiatives. This individual serves as a key marketing partner to a designated regional office or sector group, providing dedicated support and leadership for all marketing, proposal, and client engagement activities.

The Marketing Manager oversees the development of strategic pursuit responses (RFQs/RFPs), manages high-profile proposal efforts, and supports business development initiatives including events, conferences, and prepositioning campaigns. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, creative execution, and cross-functional collaboration to advance McGough's market presence and client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or business development (preferably in A/E/C or professional services)
  • Proven ability to develop strategic messaging and compelling written materials for proposal and client-facing efforts
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • Experience using CRM systems for tracking pursuits, clients, and relationships
  • Experience leading pursuit strategy sessions or interview preparation
  • Familiarity with industry sectors such as healthcare, higher education, corporate, industrial, or life sciences

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Pursuit Execution

  • Lead strategy and development for proposals and presentations in response to RFPs/RFQs
  • Facilitate pursuit kickoff meetings, define key messages, and manage deliverables across teams
  • Ensure brand consistency, quality, and compliance in all submissions
  • Collaborate with business development and technical staff to craft differentiating narratives
  • Mentor marketing coordinators in proposal strategy, writing, and production

Business Development Support

  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the assigned region or sector group
  • Partner with business development and leadership to plan and execute strategic initiatives to grow client relationships and market share
  • Lead and facilitate regular meetings with members of the assigned region or sector, ensuring efforts are tracking to deadlines, and that current and upcoming efforts are in alignment with overall established company- and BD-strategies.
  • Develop marketing materials, campaigns, and client engagement tools to support BD goals
  • Strategically plan McGough's participation in conferences, tradeshows, and client events
  • Support prepositioning efforts, including research, messaging, and collateral development

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Partner with marketing, communications, and business development peers to align efforts and share best practices
  • Work closely with Communications team on development of collateral needed for Business Development and Pursuit-related needs, ensuring BD strategy is clearly communicated and that final deliverables are aligned.
  • Participate in internal team meetings, training sessions, and Lean improvement initiatives

Other Duties as assigned

  • Actively contribute as a member of the Marketing Team by collaborating on shared goals, aligning efforts across departments, and supporting team priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, design partners, and suppliers.
  • Attend and engage in internal project management and cross-functional company meetings.
  • Participate in relevant training opportunities for personal and professional growth, including leadership development and human resources topics.
  • Support and participate in company-sponsored events and initiatives that promote team engagement and culture.
  • Follow and reinforce standards of work, ensuring consistency and accountability.
  • Emphasize relationship-building as a core part of the role, both internally and externally.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

OFFICE AND TRAVEL

  • Hybrid office attendance.
  • Occasional travel to other offices and/or job site locations.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's workstation and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $100,650 - $139,700, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. We also provide generous retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, parental leave, substantial paid time off, and holiday pay.
