Job DescriptionMarketing Specialist /Senior Marketing Specialist - Marketing & OutreachPlay an important role in OCTA's marketing and outreach efforts by developing and implementing innovative programs that connect customers and communities with transportation services. The Marketing Specialist/Senior Marketing Specialist coordinates integrated marketing campaigns, public outreach, strategic partnerships, and special events designed to increase awareness, engagement, and use of OCTA programs and services. This position combines strategic marketing, business and community outreach, partnership development, campaign management, research, and performance analysis.
Two Career Levels: Candidates may be considered for either the Marketing Specialist or Senior Marketing Specialist level. Placement will be based on qualifications and demonstrated experience relative to the position requirements.
Marketing Specialist - This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade 180: Min $38.14 - Mid $45.31- Max $52.48 hourly. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.
Marketing Specialist, Senior - This is an exempt position in Salary Grade 190: Min $87,484.80 - Mid $103,937.60 - Max $120,369.60 per year. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.
This posting will remain open until a candidate is selected.What You'll Do- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns, advertising programs, promotions, and outreach initiatives
- Coordinate marketing outreach efforts, including public meetings and ambassador programs supporting bus service changes and other agency initiatives
- Develop and grow strategic partnerships with businesses, cities, community organizations, and other stakeholders
- Establish and maintain partnership marketing initiatives, including destination deals designed to attract new customers and build loyalty
- Coordinate development of creative campaigns and advertising materials that increase awareness and use of OCTA services
- Develop cross-channel marketing strategies that drive customer engagement and support transportation programs and services
- Conduct research and analyze marketing needs, trends, audiences, and opportunities to inform campaign strategies
- Track campaign performance, analyze results and return on investment, and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget
- Manage consultants, contracts, and outside support services, including supporting the procurement and RFP process
- Advise internal teams on marketing strategies, outreach, promotions, and special events
- Prepare reports and presentations and communicate marketing strategies and results to management and other stakeholders
What We're Looking For- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public transportation, marketing, communications, public relations, business administration or a related field.
- Marketing Specialist - A minimum of three years of professional related experience which demonstrates marketing and project management capabilities.
- Senior Marketing Specialist - A minimum of five years of professional related experience which demonstrates marketing and project management capabilities.
- Experience developing and implementing integrated marketing, advertising, outreach, or promotional programs
- Ability to cultivate effective partnerships with businesses, community organizations, public agencies, and other stakeholders
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience measuring campaign effectiveness and using results to improve marketing strategies
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, timelines, consultants, and competing priorities
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Valid California driver license required
