About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Market Risk Specialist to join the Market Risk Cross Functional Oversight team within the Corporate Market Risk Group (CMRG). The team supports trading desk oversight, regulatory initiatives, market risk reporting, governance processes, and cross-functional programs across multiple product areas. Additionally, this role will support the implementation and ongoing execution of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) framework, including trading desk governance, regulatory compliance activities, risk measurement processes, control execution, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain analytics, reporting, and process support solutions that improve risk transparency, monitoring effectiveness, governance consistency, and management decision-making.
  • Prepare analysis, summaries, and supporting materials related to market risk, regulatory, and control initiatives for management review and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support cross-functional regulatory initiatives and remediation activities by coordinating assigned workstreams, tracking deliverables, and assisting with execution across Front Office, Risk, Finance, Technology, and Control partners.
  • Provide analytical support for independent oversight activities across trading desks and market risk programs, including FRTB implementation, Profit and Loss attribution (PLA), regulatory compliance monitoring, and identification of risks or control issues requiring escalation.
  • Support FRTB-related processes, including trading desk governance, model eligibility and performance monitoring, market risk capital methodologies, attribution analysis, and regulatory reporting readiness.
  • Contribute to governance activities for market risk methodologies, controls, processes, regulatory obligations, and remediation efforts through analysis, documentation, and issue tracking.
  • Maintain documentation, governance records, and supporting evidence for market risk oversight activities, regulatory engagements, internal audits, issue remediation, and control effectiveness reviews.
  • Review and summarize key risk indicators, policy exceptions, control gaps, and emerging issues in accordance with governance standards and established escalation protocols.
  • Collaborate across trading, finance, risk, technology, and control functions to support risk identification, assumption review, process improvement, and sustainable control outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of market risk, Capital Markets, desk analyst, trading, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using Python, SQL, or similar tools to analyze, automate, and present risk-related information.
  • Experience with business intelligence and productivity tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of derivative products, pricing concepts, and market risk measures such as Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress scenarios, risk factor sensitivities, and related analytics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage assigned deliverables, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a dynamic risk management environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize market risk, regulatory, and control-related information clearly for stakeholders and management.
  • Familiarity with market risk capital rules, trading desk governance, market risk measurement methodologies, profit and loss attribution concepts, and related governance expectations.
