Full Job Description
Job Purpose

Market Quality (MQ) experienced engineers coordinate activities to support meeting prescribed department performance measures/targets, progress and countermeasure implementation when necessary to ensure department results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform analysis of failed warranty parts; Subject components & vehicles to test conditions in effort to identify failures & simulate possible causes/influences
  • Identify warranty problems related to design, manufacturing, or sales/service influences - promote/lead complex investigations. Perform cause determination and develop solutions/negotiate for future countermeasure.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency and expertise through writing/documentation/reporting & present summaries to quality management.
  • Communicate with suppliers, design and service to appropriately lead/support problem investigation & resolution.
  • Effectively collaborate with responsible departments/suppliers to coordinate/lead appropriate problem containment
  • Lead/ support cost recovery efforts & negotiations by meaningfully examining warranty data & associated analysis record
  • Mentor entry level associates, co-op associates, or associates new to group to develop technical and Honda knowledge


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronic, electrical technology, mechanical engineering or relevant and strongly-related work experience.


Minimum Experience
  • 2+ years of experience based on education, no degree requires 8 years of relevant experience


Other Job-Specific Skills
  • Ability to technically investigate, derive conclusions from observations/data and analytically approach problem cause phenomena.


Working Conditions

  • Local travel between plants/buildings on Ohio's campuses will be required
  • Travel to various dealerships and/or suppliers within North America is expected to occur at various times throughout a given year (problem investigation specific purposes)
  • Expected 2-8 hours overtime per week as needed
  • Hands-on, inside vehicle work is expected. Test lab work and test shop work is typically 50% of time while on-site @ NAQC/AEP bldg..
