SUMMARY

Mortenson is looking for a Market Executive responsible for providing overall management for business development, successful customer relations, strategic and operational direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand market priorities, insights, influences and potential disruptors
  • Strategically analyze market trends and develop plan for understanding customers and winning work Lead business development within specific market in partnership with others (VP/GM, BD leader, Market Strategy leader)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners including, but not limited to: targeted customers, design professionals, partner companies, community leaders, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and engineering firms
  • Become familiar with customer's project estimates to facilitate discussion with customer
  • Establish and maintain strong customer and community relationships within the Life Sciences market, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and research facilities clients
  • Conduct key customer service visits throughout projects within market, from pre-construction client surveys to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met, and issues are resolved
  • Act as primary customer contact for projects within market
  • Maintain customer relationships to be aware of current and future projects D. Provide leadership to project teams within specific market
  • Review work of PE, Senior PM and PM assigned to project
  • Mentor and manage team members, establishing and fostering team environment
  • Develop team members for future career consideration and training opportunities
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • Use the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision making to assure project success


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years prior experience in construction, and management of large projects
  • Current driver's license
  • Experience in Life Sciences market, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and research facilities clients preferred
  • Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze market trends and determine options to meet customer needs
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple projects
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

The base pay range for this role is $178,800 - $268,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
