Overview / Summary The Manufacturing Tooling Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and delivery of production tooling for final assembly operations. This role ensures tooling solutions meet engineering standards, support manufacturing requirements, and contribute to successful program launches. The engineer will also provide technical guidance and mentoring throughout the tooling design and implementation process.
Key Responsibilities - Support the design, development, and delivery of final assembly tooling.
- Ensure tooling solutions meet established engineering standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Apply lessons learned and best practices to tooling and process development.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to engineers and tooling integrators throughout the tool design process.
- Support tooling modifications and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain expertise in tooling, manufacturing processes, and facility integration.
- Contribute to program launch activities and tooling implementation efforts.
- Utilize data-driven problem-solving techniques to support manufacturing objectives.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with tooling, manufacturing processes, and facility integration.
- Experience supporting at least one major program launch.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Passion for innovation.
- Experience with tool design, tooling development, and tool modifications.
Preferred Qualifications - 10+ years of experience with tooling, manufacturing processes, and facility integration.
- Program management skills.
- Experience with virtual manufacturing tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in final tooling design and delivery.
- Familiarity with final assembly processes, tooling, and joining equipment.
- Working knowledge of statistics, including control charts and data collection methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
