Full Job Description
You in This Role

As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will join our Equipment Engineering team, a multidisciplinary group responsible for designing, building, and deploying custom manufacturing equipment, test systems, and automation solutions that support production across our motor factory, battery factory, headset factory, and future manufacturing programs.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who enjoy solving challenging electromechanical problems and turning concepts into reliable production equipment. You'll work closely with manufacturing, quality, production, and product engineering teams to improve throughput, quality, traceability, and process capability.

What You'll Do
• Design, build, and deploy manufacturing test equipment for motors, batteries, electronics, and other electromechanical products.
• Develop end-of-line (EOL), in-process, and reliability test methods to ensure product performance and quality.
• Create automated data collection systems, test software, and operator interfaces for manufacturing environments.
• Work with sensors, instrumentation, machine vision, motion control, PLCs, and industrial communication networks.
• Perform root cause investigations using test data, experimentation, and structured problem-solving methods.
• Develop fixtures, tooling, and poka-yoke solutions that improve process capability and reduce defects.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of production equipment.
• Generate work instructions, calibration procedures, validation protocols, and technician training materials.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and product engineering teams to transition new products into production.
What You'll Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing test equipment, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or production processes.
• Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
• Experience with data acquisition, sensors, instrumentation, and test methods.
• Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, PLC programming, or similar automation and test software tools.
• Ability to design and execute experiments and analyze results using a data-driven approach.
• Strong hands-on fabrication, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working on the production floor and supporting equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with electric motors, batteries, power electronics, or other electromechanical products.
• Experience developing custom manufacturing equipment or industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, machine vision systems, robotics, and industrial networking.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and production data systems.
• Knowledge of reliability testing, environmental testing, and statistical process control.
• Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, controls, and software systems into production-ready equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and drive them to completion.

Benefits
  • Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 annually
  • Equity eligibility
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
