Your role in the mission:Type One Energy is seeking a highly motivated
Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations supporting the fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of HTS magnet components and subsystems. This individual will be responsible for supervising technicians and manufacturing personnel, driving safety, quality, schedule execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within a cutting-edge advanced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with hands-on manufacturing expertise and thrives in a fast-paced, development-focus.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities supporting HTS magnet production, assembly, and integration.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians, assemblers, and manufacturing specialists.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production schedules and coordinate resources to meet program milestones and deliverables
- Escalate production constraints and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts.
- Oversee fabrication, winding, assembly, electrical hardware integration, testing, and related manufacturing activities.
- Ensure adherence to work instructions, manufacturing procedures, engineering requirements, and quality standards.
- Support introduction of new products, processes, tooling, and manufacturing technologies.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and production readiness reviews.
- Maintain accurate production records, configuration documentation, and manufacturing metrics.
- Foster a strong safety-first culture throughout all operations.
- Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, cycle time, yield, productivity, and labor efficiency.
What you'll need:- Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-tech production environment.
- 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians and production personnel.
- Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies, advanced manufacturing processes, or precision production environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced R&D and production environment
