Full Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead production areas within our Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) PCB Factory in Moscow, Idaho. This leader will drive strategic initiatives, mentor teams, and promote SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles. The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for aligning resources, managing complexity, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This leader will collaborate closely with support groups, and drive safe, effective resolutions to quality and throughput challenges. Ideal candidates will have leadership experience, a background in manufacturing operations and WCM application, and a passion for developing talent. As a Manufacturing Supervisor, a typical day might include the following:
  • Responsible for department indicators and providing clear direction to department to meet department production objectives.
  • Understand upstream and downstream departments to ensure accurate communication and appropriate product flow.
  • Monitor employee performance, regularly provide employee feedback, empower, mentor and coach employees, write and deliver performance reviews, and assist employees in setting goals.
  • Responsible for driving employee engagement and positively and accurately communicating change.
  • Actively and effectively address personnel issues and settle differences equitably and productively.
  • Create, update and ensure control of department work instructions and reports.
  • Provide input into staffing and capital needs through the collection and reporting of data.
  • Promote safety standards to others and assist in implementing safety initiatives.
  • Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and product flow for up and downstream departments.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and department's business systems (Lotus Notes, Dynamics AX, SQS, etc.)
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

New hires generally start between $80,200 - $112,400. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
