Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Quality Manager directs the Quality Management System (QMS), leads continuous improvement initiatives, manages quality control and assurance staff, and ensures products meet customer specifications and regulatory standards. They will oversee daily quality control while maintaining ISO compliance and driving root cause analysis.

The position requires the ability to work and communicate with leadership functions across all levels, operations and functions in PSG (including Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Product Management, Sales and Marketing).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality systems and procedures for the business

  • Participate actively in the development and validation of controlled shop floor documentation to assist operators in the manufacture, assembly and shipping of quality products. This includes, but it is not limited to Control Plans, PFMEAS, etc.

  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to assess effectiveness of processes

  • Participate in New Product Introduction and Plant Readiness to ensure plants are fully equipped to have seamless and smooth product launches

  • Coordinate plant initiatives in order to achieve consistency and standardization of best QS practices across the manufacturing plant

  • Responsible for maintaining a robust metrology strategy and standardization across the manufacturing plant

  • Partner with Sourcing to manage the site Supplier Quality Program to monitor ongoing performance and to:

  • Approve new suppliers

  • Place suppliers on controlled shipping

  • PPAP Management (internal and external suppliers)

  • Expanding business relationship

  • Reward Best-In Class performance

  • Assist with the investigation of customer complaints and implement corrective actions

  • Support, develop and mentor Plant Quality Functions to enable them to create a Zero-Defect Culture across the plants


  • Responsible for assessing and maintaining a robust Internal Quality Audits System to maintain ongoing effectiveness of ISO 9000 Requirements and any other customer-specific requirements

  • Assist with the development and launch of ongoing training programs aimed at increasing manufacturing capabilities to improve Root Cause and Corrective Action skill levels


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business or engineering

  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

  • MBA or master's in engineering preferred

  • Certified Quality Engineer and/or Manager (ASQC CQE, CQM) are highly desirable

  • Customer management skills

  • Supplier development experience

  • Proficient in budgeting and project management

  • Program development, implementation and change management experience

  • Coaching and mentoring skills

  • Influencing without authority

  • Patience, perseverance and passion to drive a Quality culture across the plants and regional teams

  • Credibility and experience working effectively and directly with the Plant Quality and Leadership teams
