Job Description:

Caterpillar is seeking multiple Manufacturing Project Engineers to join our Earthmoving Division in Peoria, Illinois. These high-impact roles will lead large-scale manufacturing projects focused on improving safety, quality, velocity, and costs.

Opportunities exist supporting both Machine Cab Manufacturing Programs and Fabrication Manufacturing Programs across four Earthmoving Division product groups. This role offers significant visibility, cross-functional leadership opportunities, and the ability to influence the future of Caterpillar manufacturing operations.

What you can look forward to in this role:

Leading enterprise-level manufacturing projects supporting all four Earthmoving Division product groups.

Driving the adoption of modern manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing technologies, and common manufacturing standards across multiple facilities.

Serving as a key member of Concurrent Product and Process Design (CPPD) organization, connecting engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to improve product manufacturability and operational readiness.

Partnering with design engineering teams to integrate manufacturing requirements into product and process development.

Leading Design for Modern Manufacturing initiatives; including common parts design, connected manufacturing digital thread, work instruction authoring, smart tooling and fixture design, and advanced assembly & fabrication technologies.

Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and the successful integration of emerging technologies into Earthmoving Division manufacturing operations.

Collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and operations leaders across Earthmoving Division facilities globally.

Driving manufacturing innovation associated with machine cab systems, fabrication processes, automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing factory initiatives.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.

Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test process designs.

Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

Experience leading manufacturing, operations, or engineering projects.

Experience in heavy equipment, automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environments.

Extensive experience integrating machine manufacturability into Caterpillar27s advance technology strategy.

Broad expertise in manufacturing systems, including Global Teamcenter Manufacturing.

Advanced automation and data analytics knowledge.

Capital project management experience.

Supplier development experience.

Six Sigma, Lean, or Continuous Improvement certifications.

Experience working across global manufacturing organizations.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Peoria.

Domestic relocation assistance is available

25% travel is expected, including occasional international travel.

Off-hour meetings are expected with flexible work arrangements

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
