Position Summary:
This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) - Dayton, OH at the University of Dayton Research Institute. It provides process engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including vehicle maintenance, aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment.

Under the leadership of a technical leader, this role will:
• Manage the overall manufacturing process at the Dayton ATTC.
• Evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with manufacturing team leads and operators to assist in existing processes.
• Create process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
• Execute Lean Projects on the process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure operations comply with safety and quality standards.
• Manage maintenance and preventative maintenance of all equipment within the process.
• Develop standardized operating instructions within the process (TO's, standard forms, procedures, routers, lessons learned and all other procedures pertaining to operations).
• Develop and manage training packages for each role within the process.
• Provide training and reoccurring training to each associate within the manufacturing process.
• Be the primary contact and resource for completion of materials testing jobs flowing through the ATTC.
• Perform technical scouting and evaluation for next generation processes to resolve customer problem statements.

Minimum Qualifications:
R1 Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Mfg, Additive manufacturing, Engineering Technologies or related engineering/engineering technology, science field.
- Min 2 years of engineering technical product design, hardware ownership or process/manufacturing and/or machining operations experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.
- Working knowledge of additive or advanced manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals or plastics.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge in MatLab, Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
- Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD modeling
- Attention to detail
- Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen

R2 Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Chemical engineering or engineering technology or related engineering/engineering technology field.
- Min 6 years of engineering technical product design, hardware ownership and/or process/manufacturing or machining operations experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.
- 3+ years of experience with additive and/or advanced manufacturing techniques and processes.
- 2+ years of experience in process documentation and process development.
- 1+ years of experience with creating and executing component and system level validation and qualification test plans.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD modeling
- Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

R1 Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in technical field.
- Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization.
- Working knowledge of PDP Part Development and Qualification processes.
- Self-motivated & organized with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
- Hands on experience setting up jobs on metal / polymer based AM systems and running them in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with MS SharePoint and MS Project.

R2 Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or higher degree in technical field
- Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures.
- Hands on experience with EOS and Stratasys machines.
- Working knowledge of PDP Part Development processes.
- MRP or ERP software experience, ERP preferred experience with Global Shop software.
- Experience with Process Support equipment.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with MS SharePoint and MS Project.
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
- Working knowledge of PLM (Product Life Cycle) software.
- Practical Non Destructive Inspection Experience.
- Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures.
- Hands on experience with EOS, Stratasys, and other additive and advanced mfg hardware/software.
- Understanding of advanced manufacturing materials, processes and parameters.
- Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
