Manufacturing and Process Engineer Opportunity!How you'll make an impactThe Manufacturing and Process Engineer is responsible for all manufacturing/process and industrial engineering operations, supports, records, documentation, customers, standards, planning, products, monitoring, Non-Production Trials (NPT), projects related to safety, productivity/quality/process improvement, Safety Work Instructions, Safety Lock Out Placarding, Process Interruption Process, submission and maintenance of QT9 items, etc.
Salary:$83K - $95K based on experienceKey Responsibilities - Handle projects from inception to completion (justification, project writing, timelines, budgets, concept, feasibility, design, PFMEA's, project planner, construction, update meetings, try-out, launch, final buy).
- Equipment and Process Capability and Throughput Studies (OEE), recommendations and leading changes to achieve
- Industrial Engineering Studies, assessments and recommendations
- Packaging assessments, studies, costing and recommendations
- Plant Layout evaluations, assessments and recommendations
- Interaction and relationship developments with equipment suppliers, integrators, vendors and customers
- Prepares reports, charts, presentations to present to Senior Leadership team
- Works with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, quality, safety/ergonomics and throughput
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives
- Supervises equipment relocation, modification, installation and maintenance
- Assist in setting up preventative maintenance program and spare parts for new equipment
- Assist in resolving quality, operational, production, layout and maintenance concerns
- Review, co-ordinate and implement all customer approved engineering changes, including part level communication updates, physical part update, process sheet update, physical tooling changes, etc.
- Understand process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function
- Preparation and leadership of PFMEA, Safety Work Instructions, Lock Out Placards, Time Studies, Throughput Capability studies and Packaging
- Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in The Health and Safety, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF 16949, TS16949, ISO14001)
- Responsible for compliance to Ontario Health and Safety Act and JFE Shoji Power Canada Supplier/Contractor/Environmental Health and Code of Conduct
- Ensure changes to equipment and process are compliant with current Health and Safety/Environmental Regulations.
- Provide technical support for Quality, Production, Maintenance
What you'll bring to the role- Engineering Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, lead business discussions and train others.
- Metal forming experience is an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skill set
- Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
- Proficient but not limited to Microsoft suites Excel, Word, Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to work cross functionally and maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible in hours of work in-order to meet internal/external customer requirements
- Ability to travel globally (5-10%)
