Full Job Description
Your role

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, your mission is to monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, and improvements of various manufacturing processes focusing specifically on part inspection and custom packaging machines. You will serve as an expert resource to the Operations team, understanding the specifications and requirements for our production equipment. This role is suited to someone who enjoys both hands on tasks as well as time spent evaluating data and developing improvements. This position works closely with multiple internal departments at our New Hudson facility and interfaces with our U.K. process engineering team to ensure consistency and common methodology across the organization. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering and Equipment Operations Manager.

You will
  • Act as an on site resource to solve manufacturing process problems.
  • Provide technical assistance on troubleshooting equipment mechanically.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, waste reduction, safety/ergonomics, etc.
  • Champion the development of tools and fixtures to support lean manufacturing.
  • Research new manufacturing methods to improve process efficiency.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Investigation and resolution of process and product deviations.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to develop processes and procedures.
  • Prepare technical documents to support improvements, processes, and changes.
  • Support process transformations to accommodate new products and improvements to existing products.
  • Other duties as required.

  • B.S. in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience of 5+ years in process improvement may be considered.
  • 2 - 10 years hands-on experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment, required.
  • Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Able to operate effectively and efficiently individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust priorities as necessary to support operations.
  • 2+ years' experience leading projects and/or working on small teams
  • Ability to share knowledge and teach proper methods and procedures.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
  • Ability to safely move about a large production facility as needed, on a regular basis.
