Clean Harbors, Norwell, MA is looking for a Manufacturing Planning Manager, known internally as a Supply Chain Manager, to join their safety conscious team! Clean Harbors is seeking a Manufacturing Planning Manager to lead production and materials planning activities across our manufacturing and blending facilities. This role oversees Production Planners and MRP Planners, ensuring alignment between production schedules, material availability, and operational capacity. The Manufacturing Planning Manager will partner with operations, procurement, and supply chain leadership to support manufacturing performance, maintain service levels, and drive continuous improvement across the planning function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Production Planners and MRP Planners responsible for production scheduling and material planning across manufacturing facilities.
  • Oversee production and material planning activities to ensure alignment between demand requirements, manufacturing capacity, and raw material availability.
  • Provide guidance and decision support to planners while maintaining the ability to step in and execute planning responsibilities when required to ensure operational continuity.
  • Partner with operations, procurement, and logistics teams to identify and mitigate supply risks impacting manufacturing performance.
  • Monitor production planning performance across facilities and drive corrective actions when production schedules, inventory targets, or service levels are at risk.
  • Establish and maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock levels, and planning policies within ERP systems to ensure effective planning outputs.
  • Represent the manufacturing planning function in cross-functional meetings with leadership, providing insights on production performance, supply risks, and operational constraints.
  • Partner with supply chain leadership to develop planning strategies and ensure execution through the planning team.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics related to production attainment, inventory levels, and material availability.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in planning processes, data management, and operational coordination across manufacturing facilities.


Qualifications

  • Willing to travel away from home up to XX% or XX weeks at a time.
  • 5+ years of supply chain, production planning, or materials planning experience required;
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring planning teams required;
  • Strong understanding of production planning, MRP processes, and inventory management principles required;
  • ERP systems/Planning software experience required;
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills required;
  • Experience presenting operational insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders required;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
  • Bachelor's Degree required;
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related field preferred;
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred;
  • Must have the ability to travel 10%.
