Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Planner 4 for a contract opportunity in Oklahoma City, OK.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Client is seeking a Senior (Level 4) Manufacturing Engineering Planner specializing in structures to support the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP). This position will help lead development, revision, and validation of build plans, installation plans, and structural assembly work instructions. The role requires advanced hands-on and planning experience with aircraft structural modifications, strong technical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.

  • Lead creation, revision, and approval of structural build plans, installation plans, sequences, and associated work instructions for structural modifications and assemblies.
  • Translate engineering drawings, modification packages, and design intent into producible manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Develop and maintain production process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training packages, and assembly checklists.
  • Evaluate manufacturing methods and processes for structures (forming, machining, heat treatment, fastening, composite layup/repair, jigging/fixturing) and recommend optimal approaches for safety, cost, and schedule.
  • Perform producibility and manufacturability reviews, identify risks/opportunities, and drive design-for-manufacturing recommendations with engineering and design teams.
  • Lead EBOM/MBOM reconciliation activities for structural assemblies and ensure configuration integrity between engineering and production documentation.
  • Author and validate installation work instructions, tooling specs, and process control documents consistent with company and customer standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Level 2-3 planners and manufacturing technicians; lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Conduct data analysis (production metrics, NCRs, rework rates) to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and quality.
  • Maintain and update data in web-based manufacturing planning systems and PLM tools; ensure documentation is revision controlled and compliant with AS9100 D / quality management requirements.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, tooling, test, and production floor personnel to ensure readiness for build and install activities; participate in Manufacturing Readiness Assessments.
  • Resolve high-impact technical problems affecting performance, cost, or schedule and escalate when required.
  • Support program-level manufacturing plans, schedule milestones, and deliverables; provide regular status reports to program leadership.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

WORK HOURS

Full-Time/First Shift

7:00 AM- 4:00 PM

OT / DOT expected.
