Role OverviewA high?impact role for someone who wants to be the technical backbone of a modern manufacturing plant-keeping automation running, securing industrial networks, supporting robotics, and driving the future of connected factory systems. This is real OT work, not office IT.
As a Manufacturing OT Specialist, you own the operational technology that keeps a factory alive-PLC systems, SCADA/HMI platforms, industrial networks, robotics, and secure data pathways between IT and the plant floor. You're the expert who ensures production stays reliable, efficient, and secure.
This role blends system administration, controls engineering, industrial networking, and cybersecurity into one high?autonomy position where your decisions directly impact uptime and throughput.
What You'll Do - Manage OT Systems - Administer and maintain PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, MES, and plant?floor servers.
- Support Automation - Troubleshoot control systems, industrial equipment, and factory automation issues.
- Maintain Visualization Platforms - Keep SCADA/HMI systems running smoothly and updated.
- Support Robotics - Primarily FANUC robots; diagnose faults, maintain programs, and support integration.
- Lead OT Cybersecurity - Implement frameworks, run assessments, and secure industrial networks.
- Integrate IT/OT - Build secure data pathways between enterprise systems and the plant floor.
- Troubleshoot Critical Issues - Tier 2/3 escalation for automation, networking, and controls failures.
- Support New Equipment - Assist with commissioning, retooling, and expansion projects.
- Drive Continuous Improvement - Recommend upgrades, optimize reliability, and train technicians.
What You Bring - Strong manufacturing experience (any industry; automotive not required)
- Background in system administration and system engineering
- Hands?on experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI, and industrial automation
- Troubleshooting skills for controls, robotics, and plant?floor equipment
- Experience with FANUC robots
- Understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, OPC?UA)
- Ability to lead OT cybersecurity initiatives
- Experience supporting new equipment installations and upgrades
