What you’ll do
⦿ Safety Leadership: Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to zero harm by promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all SHE standards, and leading by example to maintain a world-class safety environment.
⦿ Operational Management: Lead and manage foundry manufacturing operations including molding, melting, core making, or finishing. Oversee daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement targets.
⦿ Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop salaried leaders and hourly unionized employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
⦿ Continuous Improvement: Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and other problem-solving methodologies. Identify and implement initiatives to improve labor efficiencies, reduce waste, and enhance production processes.
⦿ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure production requirements are met and capital improvement projects are supported effectively.
⦿ Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze production data to identify operational challenges and develop actionable plans to improve efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
⦿ Workforce Planning: Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to support changing production demands while maintaining compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
⦿ Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations, support engagement initiatives, and participate in labor relations activities including investigations, discipline, and grievance management.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:
⦿ Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or foundry environments, preferably with unionized workforce management.
⦿ Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality systems, and operational excellence principles.
⦿ Proven ability to lead change, execute initiatives with urgency, and foster a high-performance, team-oriented culture.
⦿ Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/manufacturing systems.

Nice-to-haves:
⦿ Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline.
⦿ Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or related continuous improvement methodologies.
⦿ Experience managing departmental budgets, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
⦿ Familiarity with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and employment/labour legislation.

Compensation: Ranges from CAD $115,000 to $125,000 and bonus eligible.
