We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead a wire harness production operation in Elkhart, Indiana. This role oversees approximately 40 production employees through five supervisors and is responsible for daily production goals, labor efficiency, throughput, on-time delivery, staffing, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a practical, mechanically inclined manufacturing leader with wire harness or closely related experience who understands the shop floor, knows how to hold teams accountable, and is energized by the opportunity to improve an operation rather than simply maintain it.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities
  • Lead approximately 40 production employees through a team of five supervisors, setting clear daily goals, expectations, and priorities
  • Manage day-to-day wire harness manufacturing operations, including automated wire cutting, stripping, crimping, welding, termination, testing, and build-board assembly
  • Drive improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, on-time delivery, productivity and overall production performance
  • Adjust production schedules and priorities in response to short lead times, custom orders and changing customer requirements
  • Build accountability across the production team, evaluate staffing needs, and make hiring or performance-management decisions as necessary
  • Maintain a hands-on understanding of manufacturing equipment, processes and workflow to effectively support supervisors and production employees
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, implement practical solutions, and challenge processes that are not delivering results

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of wire harness or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
  • Wire harness manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, with relevant adjacent wire, cable, connector, terminal, or similar manufacturing experience considered
  • Proven leadership experience, including setting daily production goals, managing employees, and maintaining accountability in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to understand manufacturing equipment and processes at the shop-floor level
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, increasing throughput and improving production performance
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, short lead times, and custom, made-to-order production requirements
  • Willingness to work onsite on first shift, primarily Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional Friday needs

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company contribution toward employee medical coverage
  • Immediate benefits eligibility for this management-level position
  • Paid vacation and sick time, with flexibility based on experience
  • Paid major holidays
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Four-day, 10-hour primary workweek

If you're a hands-on manufacturing leader who understands wire harness production, knows how to lead people and sees opportunities for improvement where others see "the way it's always been done," we want to hear from you. Apply today to take ownership of an operation where your leadership will have a visible impact.
