Manufacturing Manager

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring a Manufacturing Manager to support Fabrication South Carolina Aerostructuresin Orangeburg, South Carolina.

This position will provide critical production support to production including improving production efficiency, safety and optimizing product quality. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to embrace and elevate One BPS culture, tools, and key performance indicators. Likewise, within Manufacturing we embrace a first pass quality approach to our work and this requires our leaders to be committed to our team member’s success. FOD free product and clean as you go is also a component of our production system and this also requires a steadfast commitment to our standards, our people and our customer. A successful candidate will connect directly with our Values and take action to further those values with how they act.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Creates culture that enhances productivity, safety and a teaming environment.
  • Works cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improvement.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work any shift assigned
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
  • 1+ years of experience using the One Boeing Production System (BPS) or use of Lean tools and principles
  • 1+ years of experience leading staff, teams, production or quality systems initiatives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience leading and influencing people in a Manufacturing organization

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)

  • 1+ years of experience leading production system and/or process improvements (i.e. Lean, fab production system, improve job practices, techniques and standards)
